Banking Restrictions on UK citizens' lawful freedom to transact - City Minister responds

We wrote earlier this year to Andrew Griffith MP, then City Minister (and now moved on to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology). We wanted to highlight the disturbing steps being taken by certain banks in the UK (in this case Chase) to prevent UK citizens from spending their money as they saw fit in buying assets such as Bitcoin that were and remain legal to purchase and possess. You can read our initial letter here https://www.bitcoinpolicy.uk/post/open-letter-to-city-minister-re-chase-bank and also on Twitter/X: https://x.com/freddienew/status/1707793057314230348?s=20.

Before he left his position, the Minister was good enough to respond to our concerns. We include his letter below, and we look forward to continuing to engage with his successor in post, Bim Afolami, on these and other important related issues.
